The Grandmothers ask us to open to the energy of yin, for the benefit of ourselves and for all that lives. They invite us to become receptacles for guidance and goodness, to
open to the presence of the Divine – right here and right now. As we open to the presence of yin within, a great awakening will take place. The earth is starved for yin, starved
for the love of the Great Mother, she who loves, nurtures and supports all life. We are also starved.
I certainly was. I was pretty much running on effort and on empty before the Grandmothers appeared to me. I was a 'human doing' if there ever was one – exhausted,
irritable and stressed most of the time. This affected my relationship with my husband and children; if you got right down to it, it affected my relationship with everyone and
everything. There also seemed to be an extra layer of skin on me then, a skin of protection or distancing from whatever might get too close to me and make me feel
vulnerable. Of course I was not aware of any of this at the time. In fact, I thought I was wide open.
After I received the Grandmothers' Empowerment everything in me shifted. I felt more full, more complete and relaxed inside myself. This feeling was both immediate and
incremental—it strengthened me and built over time. The more I hung out with the Grandmothers, the more solid and peaceful I felt. It was a physical sensation as well as an
emotional knowing. It was the presence of yin. I was different.
Opening to the energy of yin changed me. Today I am no longer self-conscious but Self-confident. Calling on the Grandmothers and receiving their instant response taught me
to rely on the presence of the Divine all day and night. It's no longer possible for me to deceive myself into believing I am alone in the world. No matter what I'm doing, saying
or thinking, these wise women are with me. Their presence lets me know that 24/7 I'm part of something much bigger than my puny little self. The power and presence of yin
is now palpable. I now not only feel it, but live it.
I seldom experience fear of any kind now. This is surprising since fear used to be home base for me. I was afraid of everything. Now whenever I stand up to give a talk, no
matter what size the group, I am not afraid because I know it's the Grandmothers who will do the talking. I open my mouth, stand back and marvel at what comes out of it. It's
not Sharon McErlane who is wise; it's the Self and the presence of the great yin, the energy that receives and holds love, the Grandmothers have awakened within me that are
wise. Now the power and presence of yin lives within me every moment. Early on the Grandmothers said, "We do not want your worship." Instead, they encouraged me to
become one with them. At that time, I couldn't imagine what "become one with them" would be like, but after many years of hanging out with the Grand Mothers it is beginning
to happen to me, (it's happening to others too) and I can say that becoming one with the Grand Mothers is beyond wonderful. By opening to the Grandmothers and the power
of yin, I became receptive to the Divine. Wisdom and love were the natural results.
It's easier for me to love and forgive others and myself now than it used to be. Nothing feels better than loving, and as the Grandmothers taught me how to increase my
capacity for yin, that which holds and receives love, they automatically increased my capacity for loving. They say, "We love all. We love the fathers, the mothers and the
children. We seek the greatest good for the entire human family." This is what the Grand Mothers do, and once I started hanging out with them, their qualities began to
become my own. I love and understand my husband better now than I did before. I feel the same way about the rest of my family, my friends and even complete strangers.
Feelings of love well up in me at the oddest moments. I don't know where they come from and frankly I don't care. These days I'm in love with the world.
At the risk of sounding sappy I have to admit that I'm much happier today than I ever thought I could be. The Grandmothers encourage me to lift my vibration by loving (them,
myself and everything). They say that moving into a state of love is the highest service I can perform because as my vibration lifts, it will affect everyone and everything around
me. "When you do this, you become a walking prayer. Then there is nothing you must do or say because your very being will say it all."
I have learned that this is true. The power and presence of yin feels better than anything I could have imagined.
